It has been very hot here lately so it has been harder to get my kids to play outside. After a couple hours of playing inside I start hearing, "I'm bored." To help cure the boredom I made some bathtub paint. My 4 year old loved it and played in the tub for about 45 minutes. It took a bit to get it ready but it was worth it to see him play and be creative.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You will need:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
muffin pans or something to hold the paint</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
shaving cream (I used Barbasol)</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
food coloring</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
paint brush</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2PkXLGNlTIz2wyerOkudBciM27n6hc3ANsEqXe1dmbhMnKjNVLQA0iKha2ns13VvStSBhl6ijoa498pIfkJiONrYrMnY71Lshy5nUWkErudzy0zi_LfWOX9_jkqq0oC4cPufIe0BGL_s/s1600/tub+painting+(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2PkXLGNlTIz2wyerOkudBciM27n6hc3ANsEqXe1dmbhMnKjNVLQA0iKha2ns13VvStSBhl6ijoa498pIfkJiONrYrMnY71Lshy5nUWkErudzy0zi_LfWOX9_jkqq0oC4cPufIe0BGL_s/s320/tub+painting+(1).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Fill each muffin tin with shaving cream. Take a toothpick and mix a different color food coloring into each tin.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Fill a bath for you kids and let them play.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The water did turn color but my son came out the same color as when he went in.</div>

We have reached the stage where the cousins are getting old enough to want money for Christmas. I don't mind giving money but I wanted to make it a little more special and take a little longer to open. I have seen a lot of ideas for making monitary gifts more special but none seemed quite right. While looking at my tree I decided to make a yarn ornament. I had the yarn so it wouldn't require another trip to the store and is something I could do while watching TV. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I started by folding a bunch of dollar bills. I folded some in squares and some in rectangles. I took one of the bills and started wrapping the yarn around it. Once it was completely covered I added another bill and started wrapping yarn. I did this until all the bills were covered and it made a big circle.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHuz1dZRdUiuQQK60-gvNQgAw6uOLdoMLBQyM7K4K1aZjtKo79aRkxzYLwY5J21XZpC5LxJ62_qecLYO4BXerjH0eLuRomMs7lIsn2kUgArSPrDTctGTJRrNNaW85peNBwu_oLrKeuDKk/s1600/DSC_0007.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgHuz1dZRdUiuQQK60-gvNQgAw6uOLdoMLBQyM7K4K1aZjtKo79aRkxzYLwY5J21XZpC5LxJ62_qecLYO4BXerjH0eLuRomMs7lIsn2kUgArSPrDTctGTJRrNNaW85peNBwu_oLrKeuDKk/s320/DSC_0007.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
To finish it off I added some ribbon and a note so he will know what to do and who it is from.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div align="center">
I decided not to wrap the gift. Just had my sister in law hang it on the tree and it is ready for Christmas morning.</div>

We have had a great December with our mischievous little elf. The boys still get up every morning and look for Jingle first thing. We all love seeing the funny things he does while we are asleep. Here are a few pictures of some of his adventures.</div>

The other night I attended my MOPS leadership Christmas party. We had a fun night of eating and crafting from things that were found on <a href="http://pinterest.com/">Pinterest</a>. One of my friends brought this fun and simple Christmas Card Holder for us to make. I love that you can add extra holders depending on how many cards you receive.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaVUVpQshkn9QOgCoIpTowVdY3Ecg1JXw9-415L_VphMoWp3FSj748nnvRfxTYJO6QqsUBZGgA0ggCHldiUZZTp09m5j4xRX8FuiUIvUW_xv2JOg_pY45T9DQRrkF920QxQIjchgxOyoE/s1600/DSC_0025.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgaVUVpQshkn9QOgCoIpTowVdY3Ecg1JXw9-415L_VphMoWp3FSj748nnvRfxTYJO6QqsUBZGgA0ggCHldiUZZTp09m5j4xRX8FuiUIvUW_xv2JOg_pY45T9DQRrkF920QxQIjchgxOyoE/s320/DSC_0025.JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You will need:</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
thick ribbon</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
clothes pins</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
various buttons including a large one</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
thinner ribbon</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
hot glue gun</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtcmiSbrTeGTaNxJ5FUfbX7kqV6uRLtkPR-CeVllYFRyom-dZx3h8ODuqi3_UBa5_almQdlmyLp0diaHRrhYeurGLJrVynycIt0Hu03ldQLhv6MPzBXgn6QokG7Qoj7F8lUiTJfJWw0SE/s1600/DSC_0020+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjtcmiSbrTeGTaNxJ5FUfbX7kqV6uRLtkPR-CeVllYFRyom-dZx3h8ODuqi3_UBa5_almQdlmyLp0diaHRrhYeurGLJrVynycIt0Hu03ldQLhv6MPzBXgn6QokG7Qoj7F8lUiTJfJWw0SE/s320/DSC_0020+(2).JPG" width="249" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Start by cutting the thick ribbon to the length you want. The more cards you receive the longer you will want it to be. Hot glue the buttons to the clothes pins. Use as many as you think you may need.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK2XzdE9USVDgWoSdHEWJM4PTgM-fnFAZ0F5SMaBzsL-U1NFYX8TJBWSLOYG10jWfKH5lnqPxkayIw7WlBbjMlFLE4T2tRz5ZjfK-srtxYHkoCZMH3x4H_VeK39LxGHXhhsGy9eWwjv5Y/s1600/DSC_0023+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjK2XzdE9USVDgWoSdHEWJM4PTgM-fnFAZ0F5SMaBzsL-U1NFYX8TJBWSLOYG10jWfKH5lnqPxkayIw7WlBbjMlFLE4T2tRz5ZjfK-srtxYHkoCZMH3x4H_VeK39LxGHXhhsGy9eWwjv5Y/s320/DSC_0023+(2).JPG" width="285" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Glue the big button to the top of the ribbon. I also added a smaller button to the middle to add more color. Attach the thinner ribbon to the back with glue to make a loop to hang it with.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Now it is ready to hang and add your cards.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfbtr0Tc_eKYA4jOrhBosrzGJ9DZWrBNsNa95T6ifKP90A6nhrJYWHpy2qIXvMbtjCAPl5VjDOwrSKNIPKn0Otu2bJkjZ6DFpjSEUcKNVIscThA2HjDnIvk-1rB7diqKaGWwG4Gf0-Vy8/s1600/DSC_0016+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhfbtr0Tc_eKYA4jOrhBosrzGJ9DZWrBNsNa95T6ifKP90A6nhrJYWHpy2qIXvMbtjCAPl5VjDOwrSKNIPKn0Otu2bJkjZ6DFpjSEUcKNVIscThA2HjDnIvk-1rB7diqKaGWwG4Gf0-Vy8/s320/DSC_0016+(2).JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
We made ours so they hang vertical but it would also be cute hung horizontal. You can add big buttons and loops to each end.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I can't wait to display my cards on this super cute holder.</div>

For this weeks family fun night we declared a Grinch Day. We started the day by waking up to our elf holding a sign that said, "Don't be a Grinch!" Finding our elf every morning is one of my boys favorite things so we had to have him join in on the fun.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2fWAgAylrn8hx0cEyR-LDzsI2vBp8fBiJoamir9TOxoALXbWDgRczouc7Y_mqwqGVOX85UZrvd6bN9RSTaxx29-dOGnbsvfFZJCvL0aQ5PWcrM13xOw26qJL5YuejuQZMH_B3sETX_qs/s1600/grinch.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj2fWAgAylrn8hx0cEyR-LDzsI2vBp8fBiJoamir9TOxoALXbWDgRczouc7Y_mqwqGVOX85UZrvd6bN9RSTaxx29-dOGnbsvfFZJCvL0aQ5PWcrM13xOw26qJL5YuejuQZMH_B3sETX_qs/s320/grinch.JPG" width="292" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
After lunch the boys and I made Grinch Cookies. I found the recipe <a href="http://cookincowgirl.blogspot.com/2011/12/how-grinch-crinkled-christmas-cookies.html">here</a>. They were easy to make with the boys and were very yummy.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhR2dF0UkutS-va5e8ajOPu5-PGBw023XOIgWbbN7_k3SZBF2_xAwD5yB7_vkh_EcXI1wcr0ONW9MeXXtMlPJmx53owjzQ9-tvLhVxePJt62kpBQLcMkU-HjD2J72mzqY7yv_f2XKN8tZI/s1600/DSC_0013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhR2dF0UkutS-va5e8ajOPu5-PGBw023XOIgWbbN7_k3SZBF2_xAwD5yB7_vkh_EcXI1wcr0ONW9MeXXtMlPJmx53owjzQ9-tvLhVxePJt62kpBQLcMkU-HjD2J72mzqY7yv_f2XKN8tZI/s320/DSC_0013.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For dinner we had Who Pudding, Who Hash, Roast Beast and Grinch Punch. I wasn't sure about the recipes but they all turned out great and were well received in my house.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I had never had pudding made this way but I was pleasantly surprised. It smelled and tasted great.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I found this recipe for <a href="http://www.seussville.com/activities/GRINCH_WhoPudding.pdf">Who Pudding</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQ-e920BcxvcSU_vavWoW5d4YcUF503CKxsVMgMTqQpD-xDCpm8YcBYLllA94IrEIC5MLPj8jNKlshjfrU8bR6_-ur21UVWZLSZHL3g0eKUX9ZtLBIOsfgt7aWyuavu1GF9Ybjy7K0FDY/s1600/DSC_0016.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhQ-e920BcxvcSU_vavWoW5d4YcUF503CKxsVMgMTqQpD-xDCpm8YcBYLllA94IrEIC5MLPj8jNKlshjfrU8bR6_-ur21UVWZLSZHL3g0eKUX9ZtLBIOsfgt7aWyuavu1GF9Ybjy7K0FDY/s320/DSC_0016.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I got the recipe for Who Hash from <a href="http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Sausage-Hash-Brown-Bake-2/Detail.aspx">here</a>. I realized I purchased a wrong ingredient so had to wing it. It turned out great and everyone gobbled it right down.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIjPy1-QdgaEUozEjxnXNCwG5jigmmTAWeyxqThZSyBNbHfhwcT1I6_eprm5WuxjD0VUPlKC1LulBkDUDI9YPjWTH7f72fIzOSSeJh2el5IO8oVMr0M3SATboP5EocQdfEBGuwCK-IPLU/s1600/DSC_0020.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhIjPy1-QdgaEUozEjxnXNCwG5jigmmTAWeyxqThZSyBNbHfhwcT1I6_eprm5WuxjD0VUPlKC1LulBkDUDI9YPjWTH7f72fIzOSSeJh2el5IO8oVMr0M3SATboP5EocQdfEBGuwCK-IPLU/s320/DSC_0020.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I am not sure what kind of animal the actual roast beast is from the movie but I just made a chicken. I used my standard chicken recipe that I have been using for years.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEganx7PbKFXgIGgCOQRbQQRBej8B_IFT9VlvdD9pxbpWdjhgiR9K0HuKZM0wK0dhm_Qwtr3I_gzlczehoINNS86oSuhLwi8oYacZYNhBcHk1_IFQegUZ-kfP53MkNw1iEoaQGp8Nv_Vfqk/s1600/DSC_0021.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEganx7PbKFXgIGgCOQRbQQRBej8B_IFT9VlvdD9pxbpWdjhgiR9K0HuKZM0wK0dhm_Qwtr3I_gzlczehoINNS86oSuhLwi8oYacZYNhBcHk1_IFQegUZ-kfP53MkNw1iEoaQGp8Nv_Vfqk/s320/DSC_0021.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Grinch Punch was a huge hit. My youngest son couldn't get enough. We finally had to move it off the table so he would eat dinner. It is just a combination of lime sherbet and lemon-lime soda (we used Sprite).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is our table set for the feast. It was fun to sit around as a family and talk about the silly foods.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Thank you to <a href="http://www.ktscooking.com/2011/12/day-7-grinch-dinner.html">KT's Cooking</a> for this fun idea.</div>

This was so much fun I think we will add it to our yearly Christmas traditions.</div>

My favorite place in my house to decorate is the mantle. It is in the center of my living room so I look at it often. I try to change it up a bit each year so it doesn't get boring and always look the same. In fact, I usually move things around even after I decorate it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The majority of the items on my mantle this year either came from yard sales or were bought on clearance after the holiday. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgSPhWjrItTHFj-hV33PvuVO5lLJApA1WkxaCDEa2pxq-qqzlOAtesWKDPmgPhK9Pmm9TaeDJnlliLsZZh00jjy5glJHuy-Stt-hhJ5Gvcmkrbcdt7ULw8RrQX0DHbIOljljmF2igbS2o/s1600/DSC_0011.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhgSPhWjrItTHFj-hV33PvuVO5lLJApA1WkxaCDEa2pxq-qqzlOAtesWKDPmgPhK9Pmm9TaeDJnlliLsZZh00jjy5glJHuy-Stt-hhJ5Gvcmkrbcdt7ULw8RrQX0DHbIOljljmF2igbS2o/s320/DSC_0011.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I got these mice on clearance from a gift shop in a casino. I never thought of a mouse as being all that cute until I saw these in their little scarves and hats. They just make me smile.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
I got the little ice skating birds at the same store. They look very wintry so I might even leave them up after I take down the Christmas decorations.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

My little guy and I were wandering through the grocery store and I spotted some mini pepporonis. My first thought was, "Wow it would take forever to put those on a pizza." Then I thought of the idea to make mini pizzas. We love to make special shaped pizzas so I knew these would be a big hit. We decided to have rootbeer floats for dessert.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Usually I make my own pizza sauce and dough but decided to make it easy on myself and got the jarred pizza sauce and canned dough. They were easy and fun to make and taste really good. You could use these for any holiday that you have a cookie cutter for. We used Christmas cookie cutters and watched a movie afterwards.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKwrBZIBE6HijRQ-HDvJRfWjgxdbASKWrbnpZdFrxWuSy5lnruJp2-4yyQD22TofBg13SJ5HKN6SEi77C6-mGu_bzF4xQ0cMN7veRQN83yiq3C0r8PPi88xotR-MhLjFtxRLLYx1vRsY4/s1600/DSC_0008.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKwrBZIBE6HijRQ-HDvJRfWjgxdbASKWrbnpZdFrxWuSy5lnruJp2-4yyQD22TofBg13SJ5HKN6SEi77C6-mGu_bzF4xQ0cMN7veRQN83yiq3C0r8PPi88xotR-MhLjFtxRLLYx1vRsY4/s320/DSC_0008.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once the shapes are cut out just put them on a greased cookie sheet. I let my boys "paint" on the sauce with a sauce brush. Then they put on the pepporoni and cheese.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8P56E4kOP8Ro7YaPku9jzAHcSHHmroAavsPfvZYNK7eXxuxqhQBOQGlMbDzOaDR9s4I8RY3xBJlaJ40PtdM_hxMNd89-xf7qVb02GFo_XMNPrqvxcK6OkMWEjEEHKMtXYU4BQ9XpPUgM/s1600/DSC_0010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8P56E4kOP8Ro7YaPku9jzAHcSHHmroAavsPfvZYNK7eXxuxqhQBOQGlMbDzOaDR9s4I8RY3xBJlaJ40PtdM_hxMNd89-xf7qVb02GFo_XMNPrqvxcK6OkMWEjEEHKMtXYU4BQ9XpPUgM/s320/DSC_0010.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
These turned out really yummy. They were small so it was easier for my boys to pick them up and eat them.</div>

This morning we woke up to a surprise. Our elf Jingle had made us a special breakfast. He decorated the table and brought gifts for the boys along with a breakfast of donuts, cereal and hot cocoa.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-YEjeIhPBkqivBYb4my8lpQWU80nqJhcsmCrhvMafE-0nrpop10PVPXANjg1_7UpPPrPsqa56lkw13wRoA4-nPxEcNqHuA1AJvF9zQU-ym9tJ7adQd4vwdgO0L494Hfpu08WX-UDcbfg/s1600/DSC_0013.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh-YEjeIhPBkqivBYb4my8lpQWU80nqJhcsmCrhvMafE-0nrpop10PVPXANjg1_7UpPPrPsqa56lkw13wRoA4-nPxEcNqHuA1AJvF9zQU-ym9tJ7adQd4vwdgO0L494Hfpu08WX-UDcbfg/s320/DSC_0013.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There was a banner hanging over the windows that said "Be Good!"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWOirQTUw1mH0kkSGYMJ0B4a8KuFfIGFccfiRE8mYLpQ1exAsyVNOJB63K-qKcdXY-rvWzydJmfLRagcrvzKnJu_qCwWUb1NeSc2C2ofUOpzZQ-Fzdcyt8QOTStDKt4jDQ57brT62Wsac/s1600/DSC_0014.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWOirQTUw1mH0kkSGYMJ0B4a8KuFfIGFccfiRE8mYLpQ1exAsyVNOJB63K-qKcdXY-rvWzydJmfLRagcrvzKnJu_qCwWUb1NeSc2C2ofUOpzZQ-Fzdcyt8QOTStDKt4jDQ57brT62Wsac/s320/DSC_0014.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Here is a view of the whole table. I am not sure why one of the blinds is closed and the others are open.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKUDm7ce8mxFzG_VW6qUogMWIe_VYVQNL8n4ixRoNBhQEk3SEhQyiEK76abhELY3EjseJrxoPwyWkwX01ZwFWVMK6OcIYA2Ym6w9ObT1QZ29ZKlPq6IbIBJaejQ0BFwry8_LwHMslpGLQ/s1600/DSC_0015.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKUDm7ce8mxFzG_VW6qUogMWIe_VYVQNL8n4ixRoNBhQEk3SEhQyiEK76abhELY3EjseJrxoPwyWkwX01ZwFWVMK6OcIYA2Ym6w9ObT1QZ29ZKlPq6IbIBJaejQ0BFwry8_LwHMslpGLQ/s320/DSC_0015.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Each boy had a different plate, bowl and cup set along with their gifts. Next to each plate was a coloring book, a poster to color and a sand ornament craft.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEir83uFH15kQlbr1WdgHL7el_4ww9LzJ0xm0OU8zOxXEroakKUn9r3d8OIQ4bYBrg-fHLeHY9dYZyhOr2ZmdzuRvbRv_yVazejb1cI8Z_1gmqxUeUbYeteE3gSVXEyQ0MdBLLL5vzeL2BY/s1600/DSC_0016.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEir83uFH15kQlbr1WdgHL7el_4ww9LzJ0xm0OU8zOxXEroakKUn9r3d8OIQ4bYBrg-fHLeHY9dYZyhOr2ZmdzuRvbRv_yVazejb1cI8Z_1gmqxUeUbYeteE3gSVXEyQ0MdBLLL5vzeL2BY/s320/DSC_0016.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
There was a bucket in front of each plate that had a straw, activity book, wind up toy and finger puppets. They also found the Elf on the Shelf movie.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyIcypat0pMKiGSHCvUlycJKrOgf-44hPP9VkgQFKdWUYL4a6WHWvjofLIhYYeRa62Xdhz7NiRnfqT5YdC8nQRNw2kuUxsmUdMZk8DZAZrj7q_eSwDMUsbRHwc4VfqaTRt3ogYbFJEQY0/s1600/DSC_0017.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjyIcypat0pMKiGSHCvUlycJKrOgf-44hPP9VkgQFKdWUYL4a6WHWvjofLIhYYeRa62Xdhz7NiRnfqT5YdC8nQRNw2kuUxsmUdMZk8DZAZrj7q_eSwDMUsbRHwc4VfqaTRt3ogYbFJEQY0/s320/DSC_0017.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The boys were excited to see the donuts and that Jingle was sitting on the table eating breakfast with us. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Our elf, Jingle, showed up 4 days ago. My boys have been so excited ever since. This morning we found them at 4 am with flashlights trying to find Jingle. They were quickly put back to bed.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This is the 3rd year Jingle has visited us. It is one of the traditions we look forward to the most. We love seeing the crazy stunts our elf pulls.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
The first day we woke to Jingle hanging on the boys Santa picture. He had brought along his book and left us a note in Scrabble tiles. My oldest son wrapped a toy for Jingle and left a note asking, "Do you make presents Jingle?"</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_ZGPoxf4sn31CAnGxS7zhqXw_EVrIE_-FjgSd2AJlbZKdm3HAPVlKrLSxNYxEs-3-ZpN4r4dc0zRJDCMkevMBkeCsWcKlTJwEFpT8lUz6V9XMjRN_hXp55by4Qedf2EwXUWRh44XfjY0/s1600/elfs+(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="276" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh_ZGPoxf4sn31CAnGxS7zhqXw_EVrIE_-FjgSd2AJlbZKdm3HAPVlKrLSxNYxEs-3-ZpN4r4dc0zRJDCMkevMBkeCsWcKlTJwEFpT8lUz6V9XMjRN_hXp55by4Qedf2EwXUWRh44XfjY0/s320/elfs+(1).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The next morning we found Jingle zip lining from our ceiling fan to the window. He had left a note answering my sons question and thanking him for the gift.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9ehsSMpZz05NehQq60atsOI7kkGNCA3uEvi6THc-LM3-q09H36YYf0WiAYeUXKEgOL3q_dBxZOsgGnXQobpz3bHAqyJRqQpqBFDGPtl9eRIegAP2KPKjK-9HG_6oZxe6IR1LWg-lFFEQ/s1600/elfs+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9ehsSMpZz05NehQq60atsOI7kkGNCA3uEvi6THc-LM3-q09H36YYf0WiAYeUXKEgOL3q_dBxZOsgGnXQobpz3bHAqyJRqQpqBFDGPtl9eRIegAP2KPKjK-9HG_6oZxe6IR1LWg-lFFEQ/s320/elfs+(2).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Jingle was then found helping my husband make coffee.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
My boys made a Lego tower for Jingle to play on. This morning we found Jingle sitting at the top. </div>

We will be busy celebrating with family today so won't have time to do crafts. Instead I thought I would share one that I made. I made these Pilgrim hat place cards a couple years ago. </div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I took small clay pots and painted them black. Cut a piece of black foarm that was a tad bigger and glued to the bottom. I then painted the "band" of each hat a different color and glued on a yellow foam "buckle".</div>

We made some hats to wear tomorrow while we are eating our Thanksgiving meal. We made a Pilgrim hat and two Indian hats. Our feathers were a little smaller then I thought so they don't show as well as I would like. The boys are still having fun wearing them and don't realize that the feathers aren't sticking up all that much.</div>

My boys have been curious about the meaning of Thanksgiving so I found <a href="http://drjean.org/html/monthly_act/act_2009/11_Nov/thanksgivingBracelet.html">this</a> cute poem and craft.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
As I read the poem I gave the boys the beads to string on. We didn't have a black, brown or red bead so we colored them to help represent the colors.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvMdtzUNiGs-X0jE1RlWgjc5E3rkw71nUaZbn5PhWaA0-l0_ilvz57cUsiMjIg6U8y8vHRgOwyYFhVc3W2UPRzKa_URlZXgvuoh7qEPU0-Jy6OGJC6gUa2jKfTmlbfw64JWh7o0HtkL3Q/s1600/DSC_0003.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvMdtzUNiGs-X0jE1RlWgjc5E3rkw71nUaZbn5PhWaA0-l0_ilvz57cUsiMjIg6U8y8vHRgOwyYFhVc3W2UPRzKa_URlZXgvuoh7qEPU0-Jy6OGJC6gUa2jKfTmlbfw64JWh7o0HtkL3Q/s320/DSC_0003.JPG" width="271" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We are doing a turkey trot on Thanksgiving day so decided to make some fun hats for the boys to wear during the walk. We found the idea <a href="http://www.bing.com/images/search?q=paperbag+turkey+project+for+preschoolers&view=detail&id=6AE4275AAEA98B21205A94BC76E15D051D6D66E3&first=583">here</a>.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I cut out brown paper strips and measured it to their heads and secured with a staple. We took two lunch sacks each and stuffed them with newspaper. We pushed the newspaper down a bit and twisted the tops of the bags. It took a little bit of work to make them look like turkey legs. We then took squares of white tissue paper and put of the end and secured with black pipe cleaner. I then stapled it to the sides of the headband.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDZzzeBDcnnpXZ8VgYe_XLseGq0fLjZk8s2FUi-uqjCgmyNUuMBtKsn0Fml7I7N_jb-ZVic89TsalsflD5-4VE8lNh0LF-RoWm6yFp_Gm9J3SZvcOexO10keVGYYki3eI33YA_M8KXe-Y/s1600/DSC_0006.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="253" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiDZzzeBDcnnpXZ8VgYe_XLseGq0fLjZk8s2FUi-uqjCgmyNUuMBtKsn0Fml7I7N_jb-ZVic89TsalsflD5-4VE8lNh0LF-RoWm6yFp_Gm9J3SZvcOexO10keVGYYki3eI33YA_M8KXe-Y/s320/DSC_0006.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
It turned out cute and the boys are looking forward to wearing their hat to the event.</div>

I just realized I have not shared my Thanksgiving mantel. One of my favorite things about holidays is decorating the mantel. I try to change it a bit each year so it looks new. This mantel cost me $2. The rest I have received free, been given or had for many years.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju3cRg94BSRH1POaL4enl4ktN-kEjYQhRN6tYwhyphenhyphen7e5-vNKG8JgJ8VKcXkFcrAVt8VQU0mhXsoMsFKmjgMk1OaKPTEqKqSI7tMoc1edBVdovRcipZrtadIsF36RmEI85wppSELsjEqJf0/s1600/mantel+(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEju3cRg94BSRH1POaL4enl4ktN-kEjYQhRN6tYwhyphenhyphen7e5-vNKG8JgJ8VKcXkFcrAVt8VQU0mhXsoMsFKmjgMk1OaKPTEqKqSI7tMoc1edBVdovRcipZrtadIsF36RmEI85wppSELsjEqJf0/s320/mantel+(1).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
The glass jar on the end I have had for a couple years. I use for almost every holiday. I bought it at Michael's craft store with a 50% off coupon. The little pumpkins were given to me. The shiny orange pumpkin I got free at a yard sale. The scarecrow I received free from my old CVS store in Arizona. They were taking them down and were going to throw them away and gave them to me since I was there. Right place at the right time. The black plaques with all the circles are usually up on my mantel so I just left them there. I got them at a yard sale.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I found the Autumn sign at a yard sale this summer for $2. </div>

The big pumpkin I got at a yard sale for free and the flower pens were a gift from a friend. I thought the colors went well with my fall decor.</div>

My youngest son is really into Play-doh. He could play it for hours so when I saw <a href="http://www.twobigtwolittle.com/2012/10/thanksgiving-pumpkin-pie-play-dough.html">this</a> recipe I knew it would be a hit. It was easy to make and my boys have been playing with it for two hours now and showing no signs of stopping.</div>

My boys love to paint so today I just let them be creative. I cut a tree trunk out of construction paper and glued it on a piece of white card stock. I gave them each some fall colored paint and cotton swabs to use as brushed. I told them to make trees and left it at that. They spent about 15 minutes painting and each came up with their own paintings.</div>

Today I am sharing a craft we did at our Cub Scouts den meeting. It took a little prep work but the boys enjoyed it and it helped them practice their writing and spelling.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
You will need:</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
2 paper bowls</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
toilet paper roll</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
orange paint</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
construction paper-black, brown and various colors for the wings</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
a little black container like you use for to go dressing</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
googly eyes</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
toothpicks</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
red balloon</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
tape</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
glue</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
push pin</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDS0fMPE0g-jC0N0nnMcmUJur7n-XXK78ksjMzbdlKyTS2bv1briZHbEh99XZz4FZVW3K4QZRPP-OXTrQaw56Mpa8jyM1aK1OCeJANQUKgVN9f4y8r6NuLAhZVRTzRaCilNStWQsNxtHs/s1600/tn%5B1%5D.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDS0fMPE0g-jC0N0nnMcmUJur7n-XXK78ksjMzbdlKyTS2bv1briZHbEh99XZz4FZVW3K4QZRPP-OXTrQaw56Mpa8jyM1aK1OCeJANQUKgVN9f4y8r6NuLAhZVRTzRaCilNStWQsNxtHs/s320/tn%5B1%5D.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Glue the opening of the two bowls together. This should make it kind of like a circle.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Paint the bowls and the toilet paper roll orange. Once dry glue the tp roll to the bowls.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Trace around your child's hand and cut out. Glue to the bottom of the tp roll.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Cut out various colors of construction paper to make the feathers. Have them write things they are thankful for on each feather. You can use as many or as few feathers as you want. Turn the feather over and tape a toothpick to the back so it is sticking out the bottom. This is what you will use to stick into the bowl. We used a push pin and made the little holes on the back bowl and then stuck the toothpicks in.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Glue googly eyes on to the front of the tp roll. Cut the top of the red balloon off and then glue on as the wattle. Cut triangles out of yellow construction paper for the beak and glue on.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
To make the hat cut a circle out of black construction paper and glue on the black container. The glue the black circle to the top of the tp roll.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
That's it! It doesn't stand up well so we just lean it against something. It is really cute and my son is very proud of it. I am sure it is something he will choose to keep and get out again next year.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Hope you had a great Saturday and we will be back tomorrow with Day 6 of our Thanksgiving countdown.</div>

Can you believe that Thanksgiving is less then a week away? This year has just flown by. I am still trying to decide whether I want to spend the time cooking a huge Thanksgiving meal or just ordering one from the store. I love cooking the meal but wondering if the time it takes to make it is worth the effort. Hmmm, guess I better hurry and decide. I may not be prepared for the actual Thanksgiving feast but at least I am having a good time doing some fun crafts with my boys. It has become a good time to talk about Thanksgiving and gets them to show interest and ask question. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We started our craft time by doing a simple color page I printed from the Internet. I like to have them start by coloring so I have time to get the other crafts ready.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHrieblEiDauO14zZRRqAmFEfrmGTVVYAMhoKgbbZgOxAv5aMRLPRmfOb3tEf_a9EStu3M3K_7Sc5o1Nwh2RHhiulp_D_AX5KmxSMBg1ZUzD9nXZYDdYdDF9or2udEV8vBeNokfEUpcBQ/s1600/day+4+(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="214" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhHrieblEiDauO14zZRRqAmFEfrmGTVVYAMhoKgbbZgOxAv5aMRLPRmfOb3tEf_a9EStu3M3K_7Sc5o1Nwh2RHhiulp_D_AX5KmxSMBg1ZUzD9nXZYDdYdDF9or2udEV8vBeNokfEUpcBQ/s320/day+4+(1).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I found this Kool-Aid Pumpkins crafts <a href="http://www.housingaforest.com/kool-aid-pumpkins/">here</a>. I wasn't sure how it would turn out but had all the supplies so decided to give it a shot. The boys enjoyed it and after several washings still have red fingers from touching the Kool-Aid.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Start out by putting plastic report covers down. Spray them with spray starch and sprinkle Kool-Aid all over the starch. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8WQddYUQ82amR3gQV0BJ75AlcnecWq3s7TBv1L3tIM1cOQix2W9bCl25IKhAWQbVuiXGZd0W0grnbotafvJJC6tnDIPteSxjCbX-AxlKngv-hp6sT_swaedavCyat6ETE2-vyTMJ5mMc/s1600/day+4+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj8WQddYUQ82amR3gQV0BJ75AlcnecWq3s7TBv1L3tIM1cOQix2W9bCl25IKhAWQbVuiXGZd0W0grnbotafvJJC6tnDIPteSxjCbX-AxlKngv-hp6sT_swaedavCyat6ETE2-vyTMJ5mMc/s320/day+4+(2).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once the Kool-Aid is sprinkled use a white piece of card stock and lay it over the Kool-Aid. Rub it gently to get the Kool-Aid to stick. Peel it off and let it dry.</div>
<div align="center">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpPv36xFz7O0Erq6uZR4irYUYhzy7AYFbQlaQwgh5v3zW83GxKwsQ8702BgHiOJsHMsJkhLJpDOgH7yLtss2qAtAVciAq4ZSXx7YbMv7-GPNtej-dAc_ag4o783aomEmjtlpg7pFdeUYY/s1600/day+4+%25283%2529.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpPv36xFz7O0Erq6uZR4irYUYhzy7AYFbQlaQwgh5v3zW83GxKwsQ8702BgHiOJsHMsJkhLJpDOgH7yLtss2qAtAVciAq4ZSXx7YbMv7-GPNtej-dAc_ag4o783aomEmjtlpg7pFdeUYY/s320/day+4+%25283%2529.JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Once the paper is dry, draw a picture and cut it out.</div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div align="center">
While we waited for the starch/Kool-Aid to dry we decided to have a snack. I saw these teepees on the Internet somewhere and thought the boys would love it. </div>
<div align="center">
We dipped the bottom of the teepee in some melted chocolate and then into some sprinkles. I cut the tip off the cones and used some more chocolate to stick the pretzels to the top. </div>

Today has been an unexpectedly busy day but we were able to squeeze in a couple of crafts. The first craft we chose was <a href="http://www.busykidshappymom.org/search?q=turkey">Coffee Filter Tie-Dye Turkeys</a>. This was a fun craft. My boys loved seeing all the colors blend together when we added water.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Start with a coffee filter and add some color. We just used some markers we had around the house.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEK1ip37kK8llxDCqWXhD3Z9FmeCyyaib70g-2o9quY5Pz_db6GRokfk4UEk19J04I_-JXsxZYlUgaZtACOL4CmydKwmay-HD80WnATl22zfJ2WBiacNR9XBX263h02Ay2A2TTsopq6IU/s1600/day+3+(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEK1ip37kK8llxDCqWXhD3Z9FmeCyyaib70g-2o9quY5Pz_db6GRokfk4UEk19J04I_-JXsxZYlUgaZtACOL4CmydKwmay-HD80WnATl22zfJ2WBiacNR9XBX263h02Ay2A2TTsopq6IU/s320/day+3+(1).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2K-Z7LKlBG7X9bhHHtC-EI3PwB89kDOszK7riiasrcT6QFNNKyqUMTkNBF49jD3BxEY8rSSEk5u9xpbqbEOhQp4DAprTv_74oTJ7DIrxsZxVgyV13MeFOiWNEqUlkpD23lwvEhXeciPQ/s1600/day+3+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2K-Z7LKlBG7X9bhHHtC-EI3PwB89kDOszK7riiasrcT6QFNNKyqUMTkNBF49jD3BxEY8rSSEk5u9xpbqbEOhQp4DAprTv_74oTJ7DIrxsZxVgyV13MeFOiWNEqUlkpD23lwvEhXeciPQ/s320/day+3+(2).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once you have colored the coffee filter, fold it in half three times like you would when making a snowflake.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgA_1FQ5RE6Izhs8T6U4O2-BmBpySbS4TygY2On0wWQABLjS0nvD4219NoctJQ6ZGu3HP8fTU06Ciao-SV_qHjWA9U61lOSNJ-Me2I_vaqV7712USyPlxJKyq_JVjQgnt6zg3776NWwaIQ/s1600/day+3+(3).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgA_1FQ5RE6Izhs8T6U4O2-BmBpySbS4TygY2On0wWQABLjS0nvD4219NoctJQ6ZGu3HP8fTU06Ciao-SV_qHjWA9U61lOSNJ-Me2I_vaqV7712USyPlxJKyq_JVjQgnt6zg3776NWwaIQ/s320/day+3+(3).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Stick the tip of the filter under some water. The filter absorbs the water then just run your fingers up it to help spread the water.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDNeUg35wqvQn6xVTzFL-4Ys4NxY3aGFhE_j4o0If0WjLrqkFmnmCs9Rf2DI4fUAxjqLBdczTIHpYDIlzxGNRFw4Hx_raSWU42a6JMcJLQ1BxdJwbyHu2Lxn6paSSldSrzEmDJbX98ijw/s1600/day+3+(4).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDNeUg35wqvQn6xVTzFL-4Ys4NxY3aGFhE_j4o0If0WjLrqkFmnmCs9Rf2DI4fUAxjqLBdczTIHpYDIlzxGNRFw4Hx_raSWU42a6JMcJLQ1BxdJwbyHu2Lxn6paSSldSrzEmDJbX98ijw/s320/day+3+(4).JPG" width="225" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
Once they are dry you can add the turkey body, beak and wattle. I just cut the parts out and my boys glued them on. We love how these turned out.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
I had purchased a few foam crafts from Michael's Craft Store so I let the boys put together a couple of owls why the coffee filters dried. These are fun, easy and my boys can do them by themselves. That is a win-win in my book.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

We will be back tomorrow with Day 4 of our Thanksgiving countdown.</div>

I woke up this morning not feeling well so we didn't do all the crafts I had planned but we were still able to get through a couple of them. I started out by giving them a coloring worksheet to keep them busy while I cut out the pieces for the second craft.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiADfitFVbyYlqSA3JEwpgpsRt-sKODsqQvMznb5DRfGM49FrpPePJXoADlay-qt8p1jx1gJej284czW15_-hCGl9kB9EMP__5hfQBmJnYgqSBRrsVLgqrFmY8xWcOuewR0F-BHJJ2hfKw/s1600/day+2+(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiADfitFVbyYlqSA3JEwpgpsRt-sKODsqQvMznb5DRfGM49FrpPePJXoADlay-qt8p1jx1gJej284czW15_-hCGl9kB9EMP__5hfQBmJnYgqSBRrsVLgqrFmY8xWcOuewR0F-BHJJ2hfKw/s320/day+2+(1).JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
When the boys were done with their coloring pages we cut them out and glued them to construction paper. This was a great craft for my 6 year old who is off track from school. It let him practice his coloring and reading the instructions so he knew where to color. He really enjoyed it and worked hard to make sure everything was colored correctly.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4TVSToEr5tlgd9WWIXnjHtUH5j1sXvt7JCbbLpBv6tzTNi64MfEb4gT6svLTI6biXsT1saYoNusuldGLZKaSd08diIOzEsQQLN83yqOTOmtNiEO5OD1VRAIhnavmYXXbbRAMYVMwLdbQ/s1600/day+2+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg4TVSToEr5tlgd9WWIXnjHtUH5j1sXvt7JCbbLpBv6tzTNi64MfEb4gT6svLTI6biXsT1saYoNusuldGLZKaSd08diIOzEsQQLN83yqOTOmtNiEO5OD1VRAIhnavmYXXbbRAMYVMwLdbQ/s320/day+2+(2).JPG" width="251" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Our second craft was a Turkey Snowflake found <a href="http://www.localfunforkids.com/crafts/2010/11/25/turkey-snowflake.html">here</a>.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I cut out the circles for the snowflakes, beaks, wattles and feet.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHokTCq6VvaASnXeOBsmVJ_kXAA4ZJtlC4-OLJXKtD4RppIzJOoDiXBPLwuHQtqViUDxfcxvInqpB-jByUWNKSm7s9bLwChGvvlebUa7S-1a9Zv30kEmN7ELWtnUE_TB_sCEmXbCn5dDg/s1600/day+2+(3).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHokTCq6VvaASnXeOBsmVJ_kXAA4ZJtlC4-OLJXKtD4RppIzJOoDiXBPLwuHQtqViUDxfcxvInqpB-jByUWNKSm7s9bLwChGvvlebUa7S-1a9Zv30kEmN7ELWtnUE_TB_sCEmXbCn5dDg/s320/day+2+(3).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Start by folding the circle in half three times. It should look like this.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA6OxyHXCOC8NssW_a6-gpJ6TKeBnMAE3ew9EZqzwRfe77pTS3silLKEc7V0-74H5rgstyfu9aKPRGkpur7YRNCpY3TPtmf2krNJqN2f7OgXzJvRq9luvG-_4kLZqCdFHRhkOfQbMmfDs/s1600/day+2+(4).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA6OxyHXCOC8NssW_a6-gpJ6TKeBnMAE3ew9EZqzwRfe77pTS3silLKEc7V0-74H5rgstyfu9aKPRGkpur7YRNCpY3TPtmf2krNJqN2f7OgXzJvRq9luvG-_4kLZqCdFHRhkOfQbMmfDs/s320/day+2+(4).JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Cut out shapes just like you would when making snowflakes.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpwoDFBECpEMdgEmyFf1E8ZXzKYxROSGxxYr9it7j8G25hu5xir-R6qkUBzKUtgR_WV7xdG_M_CSHUK4xuixL0HdcwbiYvTLZJppPtC6Cd6yJlJw2LKr3yzoseJmGokxAEr_HgO1hF7vI/s1600/day+2+(5).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgpwoDFBECpEMdgEmyFf1E8ZXzKYxROSGxxYr9it7j8G25hu5xir-R6qkUBzKUtgR_WV7xdG_M_CSHUK4xuixL0HdcwbiYvTLZJppPtC6Cd6yJlJw2LKr3yzoseJmGokxAEr_HgO1hF7vI/s320/day+2+(5).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Then you glue on the eyes, beak, wattle and feet.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK3sc8nlZac1CmsVrurjzuMblUX-PI7v2e2kmxUHsiQJNVcVt4FvTgDLJQoK8rrOvc7e1-R6XcGgVdQlD9k6rhxFpTIwWhHAiglRwwlrl5q3toQpjZ4bYhp19bAajuI_0FNAaz-AieK04/s1600/day+2+(6).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="147" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhK3sc8nlZac1CmsVrurjzuMblUX-PI7v2e2kmxUHsiQJNVcVt4FvTgDLJQoK8rrOvc7e1-R6XcGgVdQlD9k6rhxFpTIwWhHAiglRwwlrl5q3toQpjZ4bYhp19bAajuI_0FNAaz-AieK04/s320/day+2+(6).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My boys loved making this turkey. I had to help my 3 year old cut out the shapes but my 6 year old was able to do the whole project himself.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9o5PtqzdhZ6IF3QdXkoeT9TDv63sAR8PsGqreFCl8Q4tsCorYKfJou8Hd0c7jk3lpTQq9EipJgXGdFC_Gtflsf_EoSCxJK7ltpWZ_FIo0BeyCfLwu4zLWfGrGjmpHg1Eti6SL3L-kC0g/s1600/day+2+(7).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9o5PtqzdhZ6IF3QdXkoeT9TDv63sAR8PsGqreFCl8Q4tsCorYKfJou8Hd0c7jk3lpTQq9EipJgXGdFC_Gtflsf_EoSCxJK7ltpWZ_FIo0BeyCfLwu4zLWfGrGjmpHg1Eti6SL3L-kC0g/s320/day+2+(7).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For snack we made fall trail mix. I just added pretzels, raisins, nuts, chocolate chips and some Halloween candy to a baggie. The kids love to mix up the goodies in their own bags.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
You can also add other dried fruits, marshmallows and other types of chips to change it up.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

My kids are constantly asking me to do do crafts. While I like crafts, I get tired of coming up with ideas. Thank goodness for Pinterest. I was able to find some new and fun crafts to do with my boys. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For the next 10 days I will be sharing the Thankgiving crafts that we do as well as some fun snacks and activities.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
We started out our morning with <a href="http://www.doodle-art-alley.com/free-animal-coloring-pages.html">this coloring page</a>. My oldest loved being able to use lots of colors while my youngest just colored the whole thing red and brown. We then cut them out and glued them to construction paper. Once they are dry we will hang them on their bedroom doors.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtj79INupTNVJ4bvDGJ8mbdv3489MACuXhpZlk4ckqckfH0Bk00JW6nuSNq2OeubAnr-Y-k_sBT4CAo0Ipi0-R7aNjLnKt5l6QxLzVkOW2M5QCASKOEyibWzh2fx-nHEK-FKSllUFOVrc/s1600/Thanksgiving+day+1+(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgtj79INupTNVJ4bvDGJ8mbdv3489MACuXhpZlk4ckqckfH0Bk00JW6nuSNq2OeubAnr-Y-k_sBT4CAo0Ipi0-R7aNjLnKt5l6QxLzVkOW2M5QCASKOEyibWzh2fx-nHEK-FKSllUFOVrc/s320/Thanksgiving+day+1+(1).JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div align="center">
Our next project was T for Turkey found <a href="http://www.mamaslikeme.com/2011/11/t-for-turkey.html">here</a>. I cut out everything ahead of time so all they had to do was glue. We started by gluing the feathers to the back. Once it was dry we flipped the "T" over and glued everything else on. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguYCo3ivD5aEIDx5GibqeeR5GE0IU7K-tqLsrDUkYiKEC6pkiRdacxRnO3ZRKfm51Rm6MDKluPPEAVztkQkMBHgmefbxtxWngo1tKHv-2wF_lt9L-hEnWVJZM06-N-j3YmrWeQ45RqAsY/s1600/Thanksgiving+day+1+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEguYCo3ivD5aEIDx5GibqeeR5GE0IU7K-tqLsrDUkYiKEC6pkiRdacxRnO3ZRKfm51Rm6MDKluPPEAVztkQkMBHgmefbxtxWngo1tKHv-2wF_lt9L-hEnWVJZM06-N-j3YmrWeQ45RqAsY/s320/Thanksgiving+day+1+(2).JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
My oldest likes to combine a small and big eye when he does crafts. These will be hung on our pantry door.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOZJBe-aGKK0T2YWhp59tSWKRLDrZPuKOJTJ1JBpn21bLWS24B7U4JFfOaVyDO5vQijWVJ7KBCbCQJLnY89-J3e0DbJ69t7XY5eFa9AeNAeD_dJQJ2tiCW3a-_m3k66BpcK0kS14HVDF0/s1600/Thanksgiving+day+1+(5).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhOZJBe-aGKK0T2YWhp59tSWKRLDrZPuKOJTJ1JBpn21bLWS24B7U4JFfOaVyDO5vQijWVJ7KBCbCQJLnY89-J3e0DbJ69t7XY5eFa9AeNAeD_dJQJ2tiCW3a-_m3k66BpcK0kS14HVDF0/s320/Thanksgiving+day+1+(5).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I picked up some Thanksgiving necklaces from Michael's Craft Store so we did those as well. This was a great opportunity for my little guy to practice stringing beads.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwHLVdi9yxQyL8pSqueqdJJqv0M4tEsbmKj5fob0o827-uWkWlTN0OfcojL4PQUrFRE_-zeYaOIZ-y3iPavGETwDFm6cje4Cax649nd8cjVYhs4eisnbimi4BqbjgeC2rbmtk5SErZo0A/s1600/Thanksgiving+day+1+(3).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgwHLVdi9yxQyL8pSqueqdJJqv0M4tEsbmKj5fob0o827-uWkWlTN0OfcojL4PQUrFRE_-zeYaOIZ-y3iPavGETwDFm6cje4Cax649nd8cjVYhs4eisnbimi4BqbjgeC2rbmtk5SErZo0A/s320/Thanksgiving+day+1+(3).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
I think they turned out pretty cute.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
For our snack we made a <a href="http://littlenummies.net/2008/11/gobble-gobble/">Turkey Sandwich</a>. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It was a fun morning and helped get us in the mood for Thanksgiving.</div>

For family fun night this week we went on a nature hike and collected sticks, leaves, pine cones and lots of apples. Apples were not on our list of things to hunt for but my little guy just kept putting them in his sack. When we got home we dumped everything out on the table and made nature mobiles. We used fishing line to tie everything together.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8yty7FslzPi5VNikkiUgvnK4FJW68GqpGC2suWHXyky3p-pGtQLxABbN6uA9Nht94ITgwY9fPMFLlC8bWWC5ANpxZfk6FC1LOGV_cJRdDLyFZQCKil3CjuTak-9GriM8A1QCfVVLtm54/s1600/nature+mobile+(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi8yty7FslzPi5VNikkiUgvnK4FJW68GqpGC2suWHXyky3p-pGtQLxABbN6uA9Nht94ITgwY9fPMFLlC8bWWC5ANpxZfk6FC1LOGV_cJRdDLyFZQCKil3CjuTak-9GriM8A1QCfVVLtm54/s320/nature+mobile+(1).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
This is the mobile my oldest son made. He chose leaves, a pine cone and lots of different looking sticks and bark to go on his mobile.</div>

This was an easy and free project to do as a family. It gave us lots of time to spend outdoors and talk about the things that come from nature.</div>

My oldest son is on track break the month of November which basically leaves us a lot of time to do some fun crafts. I saw this idea in Family Fun magazine and thought my boys would love it. We started out by going to the park and picking up some dried leaves. This was our favorite part of the project. Gave us an opportunity to go play at the park and take advantage of the nice fall weather.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Start out with some construction or stock paper, pencil, glue and dried leaves.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3xXQUFOCUmMeJm8JcKbxOgkUEoD98ngA3-sq8fPABv7N1uRVAX8mI1EavRb9FFLQFIWfDiFATt8QY3hE9T36x-vZj8MhQ6JGDNAtE4jjgHzAefm5R5rNukxEVtflncLXoyiigLW6COaA/s1600/fall+leaf+craft+(1).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3xXQUFOCUmMeJm8JcKbxOgkUEoD98ngA3-sq8fPABv7N1uRVAX8mI1EavRb9FFLQFIWfDiFATt8QY3hE9T36x-vZj8MhQ6JGDNAtE4jjgHzAefm5R5rNukxEVtflncLXoyiigLW6COaA/s320/fall+leaf+craft+(1).JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Draw a picture that is fairly big and not too detailed. We did a simple leaf and pumpkin.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnfKBPFAb_ZulMphPcWoDMsbu-UO7aHxVGUUNmTknwfa7bnxHl63GQvwDfTiRTtxMFjs-1Qp6_3jkzMh61ctWx71fA9pqTaD_WSA4BLdkU8p2X35nY7fNlMrKpUHdXRrFWV42dX7VnAGU/s1600/fall+leaf+craft+(2).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgnfKBPFAb_ZulMphPcWoDMsbu-UO7aHxVGUUNmTknwfa7bnxHl63GQvwDfTiRTtxMFjs-1Qp6_3jkzMh61ctWx71fA9pqTaD_WSA4BLdkU8p2X35nY7fNlMrKpUHdXRrFWV42dX7VnAGU/s320/fall+leaf+craft+(2).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
Trace over your lines with glue. Make sure you have a decent amount so the leaves have something to stick to. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjowdI4O7J_Rf0rUo9bG7JPS-AEC2B6p58mKvPV9U20cu5CkvL7sQjWfkcr2cr5p90rAUl5ffhFyrzQrPzbd2rIc7IeVHcd1aO6nHS9wTXk4Yo9AAw3jO2tROF24_oFcuCs4qwSoZcz3Y0/s1600/fall+leaf+craft+(3).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="213" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjowdI4O7J_Rf0rUo9bG7JPS-AEC2B6p58mKvPV9U20cu5CkvL7sQjWfkcr2cr5p90rAUl5ffhFyrzQrPzbd2rIc7IeVHcd1aO6nHS9wTXk4Yo9AAw3jO2tROF24_oFcuCs4qwSoZcz3Y0/s320/fall+leaf+craft+(3).JPG" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
For this part we took the leaves in our hands and crushed them up over the paper. When the glue areas were entirely covered we dumped the extra leaves off into the trash. Let your picture dry before hanging.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVibOFGqSL7YgXoJSozg0IcUGuvn69EUUP2ZTVJMbPZjAbG3kVHc-Uh4vDO5bQ-Hb1KuqhYZYlMqN-U95JRAuks3uDPEBCpGQlZ7hqHsWZ2UT1w_VqAPyDok71ZVUpra0EjA6F7cXJxh4/s1600/fall+leaf+craft+(4).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjVibOFGqSL7YgXoJSozg0IcUGuvn69EUUP2ZTVJMbPZjAbG3kVHc-Uh4vDO5bQ-Hb1KuqhYZYlMqN-U95JRAuks3uDPEBCpGQlZ7hqHsWZ2UT1w_VqAPyDok71ZVUpra0EjA6F7cXJxh4/s320/fall+leaf+craft+(4).JPG" width="213" /></a></div>
<div align="center">
This was a pretty simple project but a little messy with crushed leaves all over the floor. My boys liked the idea of it but had a hard time crushing the leaves up because they were still a little wet. It would work better with extremely dry brittle leaves.</div>
<div align="center">
</div>
<div align="center">
Have fun playing in the leaves and don't forget to throw in some fun crafts with the supplies nature gives up.</div>

For family fun night this week we decided to have a little campfire. We started out roasting hot dogs for dinner. It was a cool evening so the fire made it nice and toasty. After we ate dinner we made smores for dessert.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div align="center">
Our little guy had never made smores so he was very excited. By the time we were finished it was dark out and we sat around the fire and told jokes and talked. It was a very nice evening.</div>

I made spaghetti last night for dinner and decided to make it a little more fun for my boys. I piled the spaghetti up and then added two meatballs for the eyes. I cut a grape in half as the pupil and used broccoli for the ears. By the end of the meal my boys had added broccoli at the top for hair too. They enjoyed their monsters and ate almost all of it which is a plus in my book.</div>

<br /></div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
I saw a fun idea for turning the front of your house into a monster on <a href="http://pinterest.com/">Pinterest</a>. I knew right away I wanted to do something similar. We get a lot of wind in the evenings so I knew we had to make it out of something sturdy. After looking around the hardware store I decided on 1' foam board. I traced out the design on my teeth and eyes and cut it out using the blade of a hand saw. I then painted everything white using flat white paint. I added the eyes and teeth outlines using acrylic paint. We originally hung everything with nails but the pieces blew down. We rehung the pieces with longer screws and the teeth have a board across the back to hold it tightly against the house.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
It has been fun to watch the cars slow down in front of the house and check out the monster face.</div>

<div style="text-align: center;">
My other new decoration this year is dug up skeletal remains. I had some skeleton pieces from last year so this project didn't cost me anything. I used one of our old wheelbarrows and filled it with dirt. I threw a few leaves on top but they quickly blew away in the wind. I set the skeleton pieces in the dirt and leaned an old shovel against the wheelbarrow. It was easy to do and looks great in the front yard.</div>
