Fry's Trip October 30th

One thing I learned when I started using coupons was to get coupons from the blinkies in the store even if you don’t use them right away. About a month ago Farmer Johns hot dogs had a blinkie machine so I grabbed 3 coupons. The price was too high to purchase them that day but I figured they would go on sale eventually. This week they went on sale for a good deal and so I got the hot dogs super cheap. Transaction 9 Pillsbury cinnamon rolls & crescent rolls (Reg. $2.79, Sale 3/$5 - .30Q tripled to .90 = .77 each) 3 Farmer Johns Hot Dogs (Reg. $3.99, Sale $1 - .75Q = .25 each) Honey Nut Cheerios (Reg. $4.39, Sale $3.49 – Free coupon = FREE) Pet Pride Dog Food (Reg. $15.99, Sale $13.99) Luckily we didn’t need anything major other then dog food so the trip was really fast. I spent $22.70 and saved $36.62 which is 62%.

Fry's Trip October 26th

I recently read something about coupons I didn’t know. On coupons that say Do Not Double if the bar code starts with a 9 then the store can’t double them. However, if the bar code starts with a 5 then the store is able to double them. I tried it out with a couple of coupons this morning and it worked. I just love coupons!! Transaction 6 donuts (Reg. $2.99) Sunday paper (Reg. $1.84) 2 ½ gallons of milk (Reg. $2.59, Sale $1.00) Fry’s Apple Juice (Reg. $3.19, Sale $2.17) Kroger Baking Soda (Reg. $1.19, Sale $.99) Tropicana OJ (Reg. $6.29, Sale $3.50 - $1Q = $2.50) Kroger Sour Cream (Reg. $2.29, Sale $1 - $1Q = FREE) 4 Green Giant Veggie (Reg. $2.29, Sale $1 - .25Q tripled to .75 = .25 each) 6 various Quaker Oatmeal (Reg. $4.49, Sale $2 - $3 promo when buy 6 = $9 - $5 in Q’s = $4 for $6) 3 Green Giant Veggie Steamers (Reg. $2.49, Sale $2.29 - $1Q = $1.29 each) Fry’s Pretzels (Reg. $1.99, Sale $1.29) 2 Skippy Peanut Butter (Reg. $3.29 – $3/2 Safeway Q – 1 .60Q doubled to $1 = $1 each) 2 loaves Fry’s Bread (Reg. $1.69, Sale $1) 3 bags Kroger Chocolate Chips (Reg. $2.69, Sale $1) 2 bags Kraft Caramels (Reg. $2.99, Sale $2 - .55Q doubled to $1 = $1 each) Armour Pork Links (Reg. $1.99, Sale $1 - .35Q tripled to $1 = FREE) Kroger Kitchen bags (Reg. $4.99, Sale $4.59) Kroger Marshmallow Cream (Reg. $1.79, Sale $.99) 3 Kroger Cream Cheese (Reg. $1.79, Sale $1) Yoplait Yogurt Drinks (Reg. $3.49, Sale $2.39 - .50Q doubled to $1 = $1.39) Grapes (Reg. $6.88, Sale $2.23) 12 boxes various Hamburger Helper (Reg. $2.39, Sale $1 - .75/3Q doubled to $1/3 = $2/3= $8 total) Celery (Reg. $1.29) Gala Apples (Reg. $1.50, Sale $1.45) Granny Smith Apples (Reg. $1.51, Sale $1.46) Carrots (Reg. $1.29) I was able to stock up on a few items that don’t go on sale all that often so I was pretty happy with my trip. I went at 6 AM so I wasn’t too happy with the early morning hour but it was the only time I could fit it in before it got busy. I used a $10 off when you spend $50 coupon from Safeway and got .35 off for bringing my own bags. Thanks JoEllen for the bags. I have definitely saved some money with them. I ended up spending $47.23 and saving $103.48 which is 68%. That is more the savings percentage I prefer.

Better luck next time.
